If you're aged 15-25, you live in Salford, Trafford or Manchester, and you've spent some time in a Young Offenders Institution (YOI), then ADAPT could help you. Getting settled back in your home community after you've spent time inside can be tough and to ADAPT to your new future, away from crime, isn't always easy. ADAPT can help you by:

  • Supporting you to get settle back into your community.
  • Providing you with a key worker who will be in contact with you throughout the week to support you take your next steps, develop new skills and make sure you've got the right approach and attitude for getting on and moving up with your life.
  • Pairing you with a Peer Ambassador - a young person like you who's been involved with the youth justice system in the past and who really understands what life's like for you now.
  • Helping you with skills and experiences that will help you get back into paid work or college.
  • Helping you get relevant qualifications that will help you get where you want to be.
  • High quality work experience placements with a wide range of local employers.
  • Helping you 'fire fight' problems and obstacles that get in your way, and to become more determined and resilient for the future.
  • Giving you the chance to share your experiences and ideas on how services can meet the needs of young ex-offenders better - influencing those who've got the power to make things different for other young people.
